The most popular places to live in Cape Town |
Cape Town is acclaimed by locals and visitors alike for its natural beauty. One area that offers quality of life, great ocean views and easy access to the CBD is the Atlantic Seaboard.
The Atlantic Seaboard stretches from the V&A Waterfront, all along the scenic Victoria Drive on the city’s west coast, passing through Camps Bay to Llandudno and then to the seaside fishing village of Hout Bay and beyond.
It encompasses some of the most sought-after real estate and, although the local housing market is experiencing a downward trend at the moment, Atlantic Seaboard property continues to attract competitive prices.
Llandudno Property Cape Town Llandudno is one of the most popular destinations on the Atlantic Seaboard and is a quick 15-minute drive to the centre of Cape Town. It is a lovely, secluded residential area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and with only one access road, security is paramount. As Properties in Llandudno range from luxurious family homes to beachfront cottages, the perfect property to suit virtually every need and bank account can always be found there.
One of the more pleasing aspects of this trendy and visually appealing area is that there are no high-rise buildings or unattractive apartment blocks obstructing the exquisite views. Thankfully, commercial or business rights will never see the light of day in Llandudno and although there are no shops in the area, nearby Hout Bay has a full range of shopping venues.
Llandudno beach, with its pristine, white sand, is an all time favourite and offers some of the best board-surfing in the area. Nearby coves and inlets form interesting exploration sites for kayakers and divers, and local lifesavers ensure that visitors to the beach are kept safe at all times during peak season. Llandudno already has a well-established, reputable primary school and, as a high school is planned for Hout Bay in the near future, all schooling requirements in the area will soon be met.
Hout Bay Property Hout Bay is another popular area along the Atlantic Seaboard and has grown enormously in the past decade or so. Initially a fishing village, with the small harbour as its focal point, Hout Bay is now a bustling community, offering top class restaurants, pubs and shopping malls.
Hout Bay is a richly diverse area, with each part of it offering something completely different for the selective buyer to choose from. It offers a multifarious choice of homes and properties, some with exquisite sea or mountain views, others situated in the valley or surrounded by an abundance of forest greenery. Small holdings, several with paddocks and horses, are commonplace and horse-riding on the nearby Sandy Bay Beach at sunset is one of the local attractions.
Hout Bay has a number of existing pre- and primary schools, with the establishment of a local high school being planned for the near future. The world-renowned University of Cape Town is only 10-15 minutes away by car, over Constantia Nek, so there’d be no reason to have to move away from your dream home once the children got older.
These two residential areas on the Atlantic Seaboard are generally so popular that acquiring property is not always that easy. Your best bet would be to contact a reputable Cape Town estate agency, like Cape Waterfront Estates, that dedicates its time and expertise exclusively to the area.
